Korede Bello Collaborates With Kelly Rowland On ‘Do Like That’ Remix

Mavin Records artiste, Korede Bello has joined the likes of Tiwa Savage and Wizkid as he collaborates with Kelly Rowland on his hit, “Do Like That”.The song is a single from his upcoming debut album, ‘Belloved’.

Korede Bello signed to Marvin records in 2014 and took home the award for Best Pop Single at the 2015 Headies.

Richard Mofe-Damijo Launches Young & Funny Project

Nigerian actor cum politician, Richard Mofe-Damijo won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2005. He is a former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State, Nigeria.

The dashing role-interpreter took to Instagram to announce his new project-‘Young & Funny’ which is set to find the next social media comedy sensation.

Naira Gains Value at Parallel Market -Now N460 to $1

The Naira has been gaining steadily against the Dollar as well as other foreign currencies in the parallel market since Tuesday.

As at Tuesday the dollar sold for N510 and has dropped to N460 Friday afternoon.

This is coming after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) released $500m to the interbank market, of which 23 banks bought $371m.

The Pound Sterling and the Euro traded at N575 and N480 respectively.

At the Bureau De Change (BDC) window, the Naira closed at N399 to a dollar CBN controlled price, while the Pound Sterling and the Euro exchanged at N610 and N520 respectively.

Trading at the interbank window saw the Naira closed at N305.50 to a dollar.

Armed Robbers Attack Zenith Bank Branch, Three Killed

No fewer than three people were killed and many others wounded, including a police officer, after heavily armed men suspected to be armed robbers attacked a Zenith bank branch in Owerri, the Imo state capital on Wednesday.

An eyewitness say the armed robbers, numbering about 12, invaded the bank at about 2:00pm and shot sporadically to scare customers after over-powering the security operatives on duty.

The men were also said to have carted away a yet to be disclosed amount of money.

So far, three people who are yet to be identified, have been confirmed dead after the bad operation which lasted several hours.

Cameroon Repatriates Over 500 Nigerians


The Cameroonian Government has forcibly repatriated at least 517 Nigerians back to our country. The deportees include 313 asylum seekers who fled Boko Haram insurgency in the Northeast.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said efforts are ongoing to get details surrounding the action by Cameroon and the condition of the affected Nigerians.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is reported to be very concerned about the action of Cameroon against Nigerians.

The commission has called on the Cameroonian Government to respect international conventions and offer asylum, as against the forced repatriations.

The UNHCR is planning to sign an agreement with Cameroon and Nigeria in March, for the voluntary return of 85,000 Nigerian refugees.
Some countries are just treating Nigerians anyhow these days. No respect for giant of Africa.

Over 900 Sacked Dangote Staff Protest for Non-payment of Benefits

Sacked workers of Dangote Group stormed the company's head office at Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos in a protest, demanding the payment of their entitlements. They were pictured with various placards indicating that they were sacked without notice and payment.

“I Need Longer Period Of Rest” – President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said results of the series of medical checkups he carried out in the cause of his medical vacation had shown that he needed longer period of rest.

He said this necessitated his staying back in London, United Kingdom longer than initially planned.

The President said this in a four-paragraph made available to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.

Adesina did not disclose how long the President’s “longer period of rest” will take.

The statement read, “President Muhammadu Buhari thanks millions of Nigerians who have been sending good wishes and praying for his health and well-being in mosques and churches throughout the country.

Popular Russian Model Dragged to Police for Risking her Life on Skyscrapper to take Perfect Shots

The 23-year-old, who was assisted on the 1,004-foot tall Cayan Tower, by the hand of a male assistant as she leaned out to get the perfect Instagram shot, was forced to sign an undertaken of "I will never do it again".

We Won’t Resume Lectures Until Our Salaries Are Paid In FULL- Yabatech Lecturers

After beginning a strike on the 10th of February, over non-payment of the balance of January salary by authorities of Yaba College of Technology, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP,
Yaba College of Technology chapter, has said the strike which begun 6 days ago will continue indefinitely until their salaries paid in full.

The striking lecturers had accused the management of the institution of short paying staff salary by 25 per cent.

The ASUP Chairman in the college, Adeyemi Aromolaran, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos today that for not receiving their full salary, the workers would not call off the strike.

Soldiers storm Agatu villages, Kill 6, including Pregnant Lady


Nigerian Soldiers have sacked six villages in the Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, killing six persons, including a pregnant woman.
This followed the killing of a soldier at the weekend by some youths in the area.
But the Brigade Commander of the 707 Special Force, Brig. Clement Apere, denied that soldiers attacked the people.
“The operation we conducted in the area was carried out in a professional way,” he said.

However, sources from Agatu, who spoke to Punch on the telephone on Tuesday, explained that six villages - Olegadakolo, Ikpele, Otugologwu, Iwali, Okpanchenyi and Egba - were sacked.
At Egba community, sources said a pregnant woman was hit by a stray bullet, adding that the six villages had been deserted.

Nigeria Army Plans To Recruit 12,000 Soldiers


The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has disclosed that the Nigeria Army would recruit 12,000 men in 2017 to help fight insurgents and other uprisings across the country.

Buratai, who disclosed that while speaking during a budget defence session with the House of Reps Committee on Army, said the recruitment exercise would take place after the Army’s 2017 budget proposal of N152.8 billion is approved.

He further stated that the exercise would be in two batches with 6,000 first and another 6,000 later.

Young Comedian MC Worthy Slumps, Dies At Home

One of the most promising comedians in Imo state, MC Worthy is dead. The Umuahia-born comedian died in the early hours of today at around 3am.

According to close sources, the comedian suddenly started shouting about his head and thereafter slumped, he was rushed to FMC Owerri but doctors say it was too, he was gone already.

The young comedian who has seen his stuck rise in recent months just bought a brand new Avalon about 3 weeks back.

A Father of Three Faces Prosecution For Abusing Children


A 43-year-old father of three, Christopher Sule, is to face the wrath of law under the Child’s Right Act for physically assaulting two of his children, resulting in bodily injuries and scars on the bodies of the minors.

The case has been reported at the Jos South Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State and the authorities have promised to prosecute the accused.

The Management Committee Chairman of the LGA, Mr Augustine Pwakim, told Channels Television that Mr Sule would be prosecuted for violating the Child’s Right Act.

The Coordinator of the Child Rights Protection Network in the state, Mr Tony Obemeasor, noted that with the domestication of the act in Plateau State, the accused would face the wrath of the law for violating the rights and responsibilities of the minors.

Ceelo Green &Joy Villa Lead Grammy Awards Worst Dressed

The 2017 awards season has been the most politically charged in recent history in the wake of Donald Trump's controversial first few weeks in office. But while many celebrities have voiced their opposition to the new US president, singer Joy Villa used the Grammys' red carpet to show her support.

BBNaija:CocoIce Dramatic Eviction

The much talked about Coco-Ice has been evicted from Big Brother Naija reality television show. Following her eviction, a total of three housemates have now been voted out of the show.

Five housemates — Bassey, Gifty, Debie-Rise, Bisola and Coco Ice — were last week nominated for possible eviction.

Bisola was the first to be saved by Big Brother after getting sufficient votes from her fans.

Actress Funke Akindele took it upon herself to campaign for Bisola on social media, just as she did for Efe. Both contestants avoided eviction, with Bisola getting about 40% of the votes.

Lagos big boy Seun Egbegbe who is expected to return to court in few days for attempting to steal 9 iPhones from Computer Village in Lagos, was caught trying to dupe two bureau de change operators the sum of $9000 and £3000.
Apart from the sum of $9000 and £3000, another $2900 was recovered from Egbegbe pant.

While trying to escape, he hid the money in his underpants, where it was eventually recovered from.
